A few days ago, I randomly became infected with the Win 7 Antispyware 2012 virus. I still have no idea which of my tabs (using Firefox) prompted this infection so I'm not sure what website it came from. Following some instructions from another website, I ran TDSS by Kapersky and Malwarebytes. This was of course after I restarted and killed the .exe file that seemed to be causing the problems. Along with a registry key fix, this fixed the Win 7 Antispyware 2012 issue as I'm no longer encountering that. However, I occasionally get a random tab that opens that redirects me to a scammy looking website 'You're our new winner', 'click here to claim your prize'. It isn't tied to one specific website so I think I might have some leftover infection. It happens rarely - once every couple of hours and I've yet to experience any google redirects via searching. I installed Avast and did a bootup scan and it found a bunch of threats/infections but could only remove some of them, the rest it couldn't find the file when it tried to move it to the chest. Malwarebytes full scan and the TDSS scan come up clean. Here's the logs requested in the 5 step process. I have to admit I haven't had a virus in a solid six or seven years so I'm not too familiar with handling them - baby steps would be appreciated! Also - I was having some trouble with getting the computer to boot up after running the boot scan but it seems to be ok now. Lastly, I just noticed all of my system restore points seem to have disappeared so I guess that's no longer an option.
