6. Download, and install WOT (Web OF Trust): http://www.mywot.com/. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

7. Run defrag at your convenience.

8. Read How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again!: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic2520.html

9. Please, let me know, how is your computer doing.

Outlook is still not working. It opens and then closes again. It tells me something about a missing dll file. Should I uninstall/reinstall it?

Firewall: I was under the impression that Avast would cover me as far as the fire wall goes. I turned off the Windows firewall because I'm a gamer...and it was giving me problems logging onto servers. I had never had a problem with it before. I'm also a speed demon and don't want to do anything to slow my internet down. On the other hand this just cost me two days of work!

Adaware: Up until a few weeks ago I had not used that program for years. I was convinced that Malwarebytes was better. I don't like the idea of Adaware running in the back ground. Any thoughts?

As for Outlook, I'm not a pro here, but since it's a part of Office, you may need to repair Office.
If you can repair just Outlook, please do. If any other problem in that matter, it's better, if you create new topic in Windows forum. You'll get mote attention. In malware forum, it's just you and me.

Being without a firewall is not a good idea. Researchers say, that an average computer computer without a firewall can be compromised in a matter of seconds.
Some people use just router hardware firewall (if you have router), but I'm not a big fan of that school). I use router and software firewall. Windows firewall is rather light and it should have any impact on your computer behavior.

Ad-aware, yes, definitely a tool of the past. Malwarebytes is the best tool you can get.

Broni,

I can't thank you enough. You have been very helpful and very patient. You make the large corp tech help look silly! Seriously I feel like I should get a bill! My computer is running better than it has for a long time. If your ever in the Chicago area pizza is on me!

You're very welcome
