    Hi There,

    When I restart my computer I got the warning:

    The instructions at "0x7c918fea" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be written.

    I went for search in my computer and following files were found:

    SVCHOST.EXE - 1E57829D -----------> C:\Windows\Prefetch
    svchost -----------------------------> C:\Windows\system32

    I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea on how to solve the pop-up warning?

    Thank you for your time and attention in this matter.

    Rgds,
    Fernando

    One of these will work -

    1.Turn off Automatic Updates,just update manually in future.

    2.If you have recently installed a new network service like ip6,uninstall it.

    BlameCanada,

    Thank you for giving me the advice on how to fix it.

    I just followed ALL the steps you mentioned, like rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold.

    Run net start WuAuServ, and it was successfully.

    Finally, when I restart the computer, the pop-up showed up again.

    I'm not sure why is that, or any step that I missed.

    I tried it several times, the problem still there.

    Do you think IE7 has anything with this problem?

    Best regards and thank you once again for all your efforts to everyone.

    Nino

    The only other thing I`ve seen is -

    1- Go to Control Panel
    2- Administrative Tools
    3- Services
    4- Go to the following Service : ( Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework)

    Right Click then choose Properties ----> in the start up type choose Disabled.

    Then reboot the system.
