I have Opera 12 on my Macbook Pro (but use Opera 11 normally). I do most of my casual browsing on that (but I'm not using it now).

Are you having any problems generally with Opera 12? I think I remember having some display corruption or some sort of problems with it on a few sites the last time I used it. I'll get it up to date and try it again as a main browser.

For me I have trouble with performance of Opera 12.
I only use it in Win8 because scrolling etc comes to a grinding halt really...
But it's a beta and the last revision I installed (per my previous post) made a nice improvement already...

We upgraded Xenforo last night, any improvements on the back button issue?

Sorry to bring bad news, but it's just taken me 3 clicks on the back arrow to get out of this thread. Moreover, I haven't noticed any change and I have been active here today .

    EDIT: But see update below.

I updated to 12.00 build 1328 and the problem actually got worse. 4 to 5 clicks to get back out of a thread. So I checked for updates again and there was another (apparently 1328 was a necessary step in the upgrade process). Installing that now. Will edit with results.

Edit: weird, after the upgrade it still says build 1328. Still behaves the same too :( 4-5 backs to get 1 back..

Double Edit: Downloaded the latest from Opera directly (instead of the inline upgrade) and got to build 1387. It does in fact get out of a thread in 1 press.

    Update!

For the last day or so, the back arrow in my Opera has been working almost unfailingly on the first and occasionally the second click.

So, what has caused this change? In addition to the Xenforo update, I have checked for Opera updates thru the Help toolbar and though there is none, the operation of checking silently updates Java use in Opera.

Whatever the reason for the big improvement, if not total solution, if I don't come back you can assume the problem with Opera is no longer an issue.

Confirmed it's been fixed by Opera? or not?

No it has not been fixed in the stable release (11.62)
I can get the kind of behavior bobcat did sometimes but actually right now in Win7 it's taking me 3 presses of the back button to go back...

One clicking now is getting me back out of threads!

Sorry to keep revising my findings, but occurrence of the problem is intermittent and unpredictable. I don’t know if my last optimistic message was connected with a temporary disabling of Facebook integration as reported by Per Hansson here:
    http://www.techspot.com/community/t...-behavior-and-facebook-integration.180251/#14

But I have been watching the behavior since my last post, and the current situation is:
1 The problem has not disappeared entirely
2 It occurs much less frequently than when it was first reported
3 As a rule it takes 1 click, only occasionally 2 or 3 clicks to move back
4 Occurrence is unpredictable and intermittent

The above always with current stable Opera 11.62 and XP SP3.

Lastly, I keep checking Opera regularly for updates, and as soon as one is available I’ll install it and report the results.

OK, here I am again, hopefully for the last time, as the news is excellent.

For the last three days the Opera 11.62 back button has worked first time every time. Consequently, the problem can now be considered well and truly fixed, unless…er…whatever you did guys, don’t undo it! ;)
