Your HJT log is clean.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Then turn system restore back on. This will delete all your old restore points and anything nasty that`s in them. It will also create a brand new. clean restore point.

Run Combofix again and post the log file.

This is the message i get when trying to disable System Restore: "System Restore encoutered a problem trying to enable/disable one or more drives. Please restart your machine and try again" and of course everytime i tried nothing happened. I forgot to mention in my previous threads i had that problem.

Ok, just post a fresh Combofix log.

I'm also not able to access the menu where you can choose a restore point manually

Here's the ComboFix log

I`m running out of ideas here. I`m pretty sure your system is still infected with a rootkit, the trouble with rootkits are sometimes, the only way of getting rid of them is to reformat and reinstall from scratch.

Download and run the AVG Antirootkit programme.

Let me know if it finds anything.

Rootkit

Unfortunately it did not find anything, i don't know what to do now; if you give up i don't know what i'm going to do

Unfortunately I don`t really have any other suggestions. It a real shame you can`t run a Windows repair. However, even if you could, there would be no guarantees it`d fix your problem.

After everything we have tried, there`s only a reformat left. This would undoubtedly fix your computer.

I know you don`t have a Windows disk, but do you have a recovery partition or recovery disks that came with your computer?

Regards Howard :)

Provided your copy of XP is legal, do the following.

First, backup any important data, music/photos etc.

Download all the drivers you`re going need for your system and burn them to cd.

Disconnect from the net and don`t reconnect until Windows has been installed and you`ve installed your firewall software.

You need to do the following.

1 Restart your computer and go to setup usually by pressing the F2 or delete key.

2 Once you get into setup look for the boot menu and make sure you set it to boot from cd first followed by your hard drive.

3 Put the Windows xp disk into your cd.

4 Now save your settings and exit setup.

5 While your computer is booting you will see a message that says "press any key to boot from cd" press any key.

6 When the welcome to setup screen appears press enter and then press F8 to accept the Microsoft licence agreement.

7 You will be prompted to repair an insallation press the escape key.

8 Now select the partition that you want to reformat and press the D key to delete it you will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the partition.

9 Now press C to create a brand new partition you will be asked what size you want the partition to be in mega bytes. If you just press enter then the partition will be the maximum size that you can have. This is perfectly ok if you don`t want to create multiple partitions.

10 You will now be asked to format the partition select the ntfs file sytem and do a full format.

11 Once the format is complete setup will continue.

Your computer will restart during the remaining setup again you will be asked to press any key to boot from cd DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING. and setup will continue. Once the setup is complete and you are back in Windows remove the Windows cd from your cd drive.

Once you`re back in Windows, install your firewall software. Don`t install any antivirus software yet.

Install all the drivers you need and run Windows updates.

Then install your antivirus software and any programmes you want.

hi lanimal. i have followed the work that Howard has been doing with your logs etc, and you seem to be having continuous problems. it may be the best at this point, to save anything of importance and value to disc and format, seeing that you have a copy of XP. in my view if Howard cant fix it, it must be bad!
