Time to fill out your User Profile with ALL your PC-data (top left on any page).
What OS have you, how does the printer connect to the PC?
You need to give us more and better information, otherwise we can't do anything.

If Windows is updated then pay no attention to the DSO exploit. It poses no problem.

simtel.net is now a fraction of what it once was, but still has some really cool software and utilities for dealing with this stuff.

go to the symantec website and download the removal tools for whatever viruses you have, if they are offered. you may not find anything, as definitions may vary.

    i did it

I re installed my computer. My printer is running fine now except that the ink doesn't hit the paper when I print. Interactual pleyer won't work. Everythign else works. If I have anymore problems I'll post them up. Does anybody have Microsoft Office of wutever editon/version? I need to get it. Does any1 know a place where i can download it? I have Microsoft Office 97 and 2000. They both don't work because of errors. Microsoft 97 needs a liscense from me (how do I get one?) and 2000 has an error on it. Ms.dll i think is the problem. The cds may be dirty though.

I'm trying 2 activate Norton Internet security. I tried putting in the serial or product key wutever thingy into the boxes (the key was on the back of the cd case). I clicked next and it said that it had reached max count. I was able to connect to the internet. How do I activate Norton Internet Security? Did I activate it too much or did I type in they key number too many times? After all it said that it had reached the MAx count.

what do you mean, you reinstalled your system? did you do a clean wipe or just install new system files?
  10. crazykid99 Newcomer, in training Posts: 59

    reinstallation

I reinstalled my whole entire computer using my emachines emergenecy backup disk. I reinstalled everything. My computer is totally wiped out. I have to install all mycds over again. I have some problems. My printer is installed and I put new black ink in and mycolor ink is old but still has a lot of color ink. I tried to print something out but when the paper came out there was no ink on it. The ink never went onto the paper! Another thing, I'm trying to activate Norton Inetrnet Security 2004 but when I putthe key numbers in the boxes and press enter. It connects but it says that I have reached the Max Count. How do I resolve this?

By the way why is their an arrow on the envelope that says moved. When you get into the storage and networking open boards and you see my thread title the envelopenext to the title has the arrow. WHy is that?

I guess you have not been too picky, with where you installed that same Norton AV. Did you lend it to your buddies, or is it perhaps not YOUR CD? Norton allows for some re-installs, but you have used your options too many times.
Some of your posts smell of warez, you are in the wrong forum and website to ask questions like that, be warned!

An envelope with an arrow means, that the original post was put in the wrong forum-type, and has been moved by a moderator to the proper/relevant forum, that's all.

Clean the printer cartridge head with isopropanol (in any pharmacy) on a cotton swab.
Someone mentioned using a hoover, but check with the lady of the house first!

What do i use to clean it or wutever? and what was the name of that product again? isopropanyl? Cnai get it at stater brothers?

Don't think you need to go to the drugstore/pharmacy.
You would not be the first one who did not fully remove the protective tape that is on the cartridge over the nozzles. Take the (black) cartridge out and remove it.
Also, after inserting a new cartridge, your printer should want you to realign it. Check the settings after you remove that piece of tape.

If you ever need to reinstall the printer, first uninstall everything in Device Manager.
    Then go into Regedit to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Printers\Lexmark Printer
In the left panel, rightclick the Lexmark Printer, select 'Delete' and confirm. Exit the Regedit program.

I did remove allthe protective tape of the ink cartridge and nozzle. My dad bought me like 6 new black ink cartridges. I'm justgonna get a new ink cartridge and try that and replace it. About the firewall/antivirus? What's the best one? I'm going to have ZonAlarm firewall. Norton Antivirus 2004 and AVG Antivirus as my two main antiviruses. How is that? Are there any more good ones? What is the substance you were talking about that cleans outyhe nozzleof the ink cartridge?
  18. RealBlackStuff Newcomer, in training Posts: 8,165

Are they the right type of cartridge for that printer?
Do NOT install any Norton/Symantec crap on your PC!!!
You are perfectly protected with AVG and ZoneAlarm. And NEVER have more than one Antivirus program running on your PC.

Don't you read any of the posts? I've given you all the advice and answers already.

    Calm down, realblackstuff.

Norton's products are usable like many others. Is it really that awful if it requires a bit more memory and processing power than products recommended by you?
