I attempted to follow the instructions located in this thread:
    http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/cant-delete-backup-folder-in-vista.85514/

I fail at step #22. Getting the "Access Denied" error message.

This problem is driving me crazy. This backup folder is eating up 40+GB of my space. Everywhere I search on the net people are having this problem and failing to get it solved.

Major Vista fail. This should not be this difficult. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After you take ownership of the folder and subfolders (once step 11 is complete), try and click OK, then click OK again (this should close the properties window of the folder). Now right click the folder, select properties, click the security tab, click the advanced button and proceed from step 12. See if you still get the error at step 22.
