What does your desktop look like?

Hehe, I dont know if I would say "avid", because I just started to really get into it a few days ago. I've been using it on and off for about 3 years and had a class in Linux in college. Knowing a lot about DOS helps out a lot in Linux, particularly in shell.

I know enough to get around it a little bit from what I've learned over the last few years. The last few days I've started to really get the hang of it. With the help of some of the guys in the IRC room I got the Internet setup partially and figured out the rest. (I have it networked with my XP computer and it shares the connection so that Linux access the Internet over the network).

Yesterday I completely reinstalled my server, moving it from Windows 2000 Advanced Server to Windows 2003 Server (Enterprise). Here is the screenshot:-

Julio that is a sweet background. Mine is currently one I took in Sedona, AZ, USA where there are lots of red rocks mountains in the background with cactus in the foreground and a storm overhead. It is pretty slick.

new desktop...

And just to show no mercy for the bandwidth, heres some wallpaper I made, using Photoshop - just in case anyone wants it....

Im still working on the design...It doesnt look quite how I want it. Needs to be finer and glossy ;)

Agissi: I am designing a webpage for the company that I work for. (a re-design since the one we have already sucks). I did the image below in Photoshop. Not sure how much you know about web design but you slice the image or "interface" up with the slice tool in Photoshop then you have the option of letting Photoshop create the HTML for you, optimizing each individual slice to the level you want, and other very cool things.

Thought I would show off my Photoshop skills to you ;-)

Also, I have some stuff at www.geocities.com/realityxdesign/ that I did about 2 years ago in Photoshop. (Mostly photo composites).
Take a look :p

That is a pretty cool looking background Pakasad.

Acid: You got some nice PS Skillz there, and I never knew about the slice/html thing, it sounds very cool. I just save the pix I make in PS as a jpeg and then import them using Frontpage, which is what I use (frontpage) to make everything else on the websites.

I like this website alot:
http://www.geocities.com/realityxdesign/

....But only because thats Ricky Carmichael on the frontpage ;)
The other one you have a screenshot of is nice tho.

Heres 2 websites that some off some of my latest Skillz.. This one:
http://www.atlantisglassdesign.com/FrontpagePlus/

I had a design that looked alot nicer but o'well, it didnt work out :(
That website is for my company Frontpage Plus+ that im currently running (I make websites for other companys). Once I buy a proper domain for that, I'll be up and running.

Heres a website Im making just for the fun of it:
http://www.atlantisglassdesign.com/FG900-1024/

I'll simply get a redirection at www.dot.tk for that, since I dont want to pay anything.

......What do you think of my stuff?

Oh yea, another change of desktop wallpaper! I've made some more and like this better:

Hehe Agissi, I forgot that you race.

The only thing I notice that I would change with your webpage that your working on at http://www.atlantisglassdesign.com/FG900-1024/ is that it looks like the top bar is designed for 1024x768 and isn't fitting on my 1280x1024 screen and so the graphic appears twice :)

Good job, keep it up. Have you ever tried any photo composites? Those are pretty fun to do but they take a while. The motorcycle I scanned out of a magazine and did the compositing in Photoshop which took about 3-4 hours, especially since I cut around the spokes on the tires because I wanted to leave as much of those as I could to make it look realistic.

Yeah... I wanted to comment on that too. Use multiple tds in that tr to get it done. Put the first image in the first td, then create something that just goes on forever (as a background for the td) in the second td and then you've got another td to put an ending image.

It will save you bandwidth and loading time. Though, I don't know how you'd do that in frontpage... since I'm more of a notepad freak.

Though... you may already know that... 2cents.;)

Lol...I'm the one that gave him the HTML code for that...I never thought of you guys with massive resolutions.../smacks self.

thanks alot Acidosmosis and agissi! :) It's fun to see different peoples desktops and imagining how using them would feel  Till later..

edit: how come it wont show like the rest? I did use the imaging code yet it still shows it as a link

XTR & Acid: Yea the site is made for the res.1024x768...I'll have to work on that, so it fits all resolutions :)

btw yea acid, you did do a really good job on Ricky's picture...(ala, the spokes n' all, like you said).
