nice PHAT. I see you got the multiple desktop working.

THink you got high enough quality on those jpegs? They are like 2 megs a piece. Glad I got fast connection.

Is multiple desktops an WinXP only thing or can it be done on Win2K as well?

I love it! Pink is my favourite colour too!!! ;)

    -------

Multiple desktops can be implemented on Windows 98 and onwards (and NT4 I believe) with multiple graphics cards. Its possible you can even have multiple desktops on Windows 95 with Matrox dual or quad view cards. Virtual desktops is not natively supported by Windows 95, 98, Me nor 2000, but can easily be implemented by modifying (or changing) the shell. Litestep used a little Dynamic Link Library at startup called vwm32 (virtual window manager), which can be confugured to use anything from two to sixteen virtual desktops, all on the same graphics card/monitor combo. So yes, you can get multiple desktops on any version of Windows.

Phantasm, a sweet bit of gnomeage but surely a you'd need a higher resolution? My experiance of Gnome is that it likes to take up a lot of your desktop with unnecessarily large interface buttons & such. But I still like, very much. Or maybe you resized it for the screenshot...?

"grr", no offense, but I think you need to get your colours sorted out. Try "seethru" or windowblinds to remove the icon background colour. Windows customisation guide >> http://www.3dspotlight.com/tweaks/win9x_customization/index.shtml

Wouldn't ever like to "finish" a desktop ;)

But yeah, that sort of thing *really* makes me want to reformat & get out Red Hat again.

Phat - your desktops are gorgeous! I love it!

Maybe I should take up all the room in this thread too? Maybe later...

Hehe...it's Linux...everything is configurable! My Gnome desktop has a bar smaller than the typical windows bar. I'll post screenshots as soon as I get around to it.
