My main computer has a Radeon 8500 64mb DDR, wich is keeping me happy. At least till I get a Radeon 9700 :)

In the other computer and in my sisters and my mom's one I have GF4 MX440 64mb which is good when I have a little lan party at my house and take the computers to play some game.

AND!!, I have in my desk a Guillemot MaxiGamer 2 with a 3DFX Voodoo2 and 12 mb which I put inside a glass cube with the name of the card and the logo of 3DFX. In my opinion Voodoo Graphics was the pioneer and the Voodoo2 was, till now, the card that made more of a revolution in a single product cycle in the market!!

You read that XTR-X? Theres our WC3 problemo ;)

I Have an Nvidia GF4, Ti4200...its great, shall last awhile. Probbly upgrade when I upgrade my CPU to AMDs 64-Bit Clawhammer or whatever.

damn LNC, you got some money floating around!!! Is that Dual Xeon a server? Nice stuff!

No - I don't have money floating around - the job buys me lots of hardware and software. Also, the dual Xeon 2.8 GHz is not a server - it's my rendering machine. BTW folks - just an FYI - a Ti4400 is a better performer in games than a Quadro 980 XGL - in case you're wondering.

When I first replied I had ATI Rage 128, now it's changed to Matrox G450 dualhead, secondary card being GeForce FX 5200 (Secondary because it is not supported in BeOS).

If I were you I'd wait untill the next Readeon comes out, then watch the 9700s price fall, and nab it ;)
  9. Steg Newcomer, in training Posts: 422

    yeh but its....its...its a radeon.....
im kinda loyal to nvidia......and a friend of mine has had no end of trouble with his 9700 - drivers issues, cooling issues etc
but i might get a 5700...if the price is right when they come out

I had problems with my Radeon 9700 Pro when I first bought one, but as they are so common now, you won't get any bother in newer systems. Damn fine card too, with fantastic drivers and top image quality. I couldn't be more pleased.

I have a nvidia but it is soon to be replaced by ati. When I first got the card (over 2 years ago) nvidia was the way to go, but now I would only go ATI. I'll vote again when I upgrade :)

I use the rather conservative Matrox G550 (AGPx4, 32MB SGram).
It has the cleanest script of any cards I've ever seen and this is probably the ultimate business card, perfect for e.g. designing web-sites.
Combined with a Sony 19" Trinitron Multiscan 420GS monitor, it it a real pleasure to work with.
    I don't do any gaming.
