Winxp hanging

    Hi,
    Need help!!! I'm running Winxp 40 gig HD 512 mem. When I try to run any program that taks a lot of memory or what not my system hangs for a few seconds then resums speed. Some times my curser will disapear the reappear.
    Could this be a memory thing or what? My son cannot play any of his games on the system because of the pausing.
