That's a bit difficult too many great old bands out there to pick one.

Kenya Gruv - Top of the World

But that was way back when I was in high school. Everytime I hear that song it reminds me of Might and Magic V for the PC - since I left the song on repeat for about a hundred hours while I played that game.

Great choices, we used to play One for Greek Sing and it was awesome. Ever since then it has been my favorite song.

Now I have a lot more favorites that aren't too board friendly.

Also Live is a good band.

Its quite impossible to list the ultimate, but I'll give you a sampling:

    Carolines Pine: Mrs. Sullivan
Poison : Talk Dirty To Me
    SlipKnot : Wait and Bleed
Bob Dylan : Like A Rolling Stone
    Don Mclean : American Pie

Now for my favorite band and my ultimate favorite song:

    Guns N Roses : Coma

Too many to mention, but ones that spring to mind currently are ...

Scorpions: Rock you like a Hurricane
    Dire Straights: Sultans of Swing
    AC/DC: Back in Black
    Tom Petty: Refugee

There are hundreds more I could mention, but those are some that currently spring to mind. My musical tastes are pretty diverse, though you might not think so by looking at the above :=). That's just a small sampling.

I saw the Pixies open for Love and Rockets in 1990 and thought I saw the resurrection of rock and roll. Pity they couldn't hold it together.:(

I saw Frank Black live at the Grosvenor in '95 or so.

Did an awesome version of "Pong"

I love the music, don't know all that much about the band.
Didn't Black Francis announce the breakup over the radio, before the rest of the band knew anything about it ???

I can feel a Google search coming on...

"One fine day in my odd past..."

See if you can dig up any evidence of the rumored reunion. They are awesome live- or at least they were 15 years ago...

Since I'm late to the thread.. I'd have to say Paul Simon would be the favorite artist.

Rank1's Airwave would be my fave song. Any mix, probably my Midnight mix best, but it's a damn good one.

Although, I do highly repect many of the other choices in this thread (Dire Straights I saw mentioned earlier, the whole Brothers in Arms album is worthy of mention.)
