ATI R5xx reports coming in

Reports back from an ATI Analyst conference last week indicate that ATI have confirmed they are due to launch their new architecture, the basis of the R5xx series, in the first half of 2005. Rumour has it that the architecture is to be based on Shader 3.0 and be very focused on the memory interface and bus - the GDDR4 memory technology will be matched with the new memory interface which will be scalable to speeds of 1.2GHz. There are also hints at a smaller die size.
