Xbox 360 scams still going on

Xbox 360 swindles still seem to be going strong, with many unscrupulous scammers offering the next generation consoles to anyone silly enough to buy them via auction on the Net. Short supply and high demand have left numerous gamers longing for the new Xbox, and being prepared to pay upwards of $800 for it. Many have been conned out of their hard earned cash, with one woman reportedly paying hundreds of dollars for a picture of the console.

That's exactly what has happened to a few shoppers desperate to get an Xbox 360 under the Christmas tree this year. eBay and other Web sites have multitudes of bidding wars going for the next-gen console, and the frenzy has attracted the cold hearts of those looking to take advantage of the situation. In a "cross-your-fingers-and-hope-someone-falls-for-it" scam, some tricksters on online auction site eBay have set up pages hawking what appear to be Xbox 360s.

 1. If selling pictures of an XBOX 360 is illegal, then why is selling a spyware remover by advertising "warning, ur computer has been infected by malwares, click here to blablabla" not illegal? As long as they don't risk anything to get a profit, they will do it, it's just human nature.
 2. XBOX 360 sure is making a huge news nowaday. it's a great little gaming console, too bad it's so expensive . I rather play my pc games >

Even our advanced age of electronics can't stop the human factor of deceit.
yes very much so. But human nature will not advance with technology, if anything we will just get worse. Course there hope, a hope that we can find in the true meaning of Christmas, not the gifts, the warm feeling(or stress lol), but in the original meaning; The Birth of Jesus Christ...
Right, ask any kid what they acosiate with Easter? THey say chocolate. Christmas? Presents. Birthday? Getting older and presents. ERm, they don't mean these things. It's all been exagerated by the media etc... till nothing is left. Sort of the same with the Xbox360. They forget its a thing, not your life. If you rush and are desperate enough to ignore the smallprint that says. "Oi you stupid *****! This is a picture!" then blame Microsoft more than the scammers for thinking they can create more hype by shortning their supply on purpose. (I know it's a rumour, but honestly, what do you think?)
 4. i think these people should be ashamed and arrested by the police.not everybody is as fortunate as everybody else is. and for the poor old schmo who went onto ebay and tried to get a good deal on a 360 for their kid for christmas and ended up gettin a picture what r they suppose to do now. lay back and excpet it. learn there lesson? NO. they should be refunded maybe even a little more and the scammer arrested.isnt ebay like a contract? i guess u really should read everybit but seriously its christmas. people really need to change there ways. i hope u all know we will be at fault for our own extinction. geeze if people could all just get along and let go of the little things that dont really matter.
 5. Maybe they only started it as a joke, but then someone really bid for it, and they realized they didn't do anything illegal, they did say that it's only a picture. Someone careless enough to buy something worth hundreds of dollars without even checking the item first is going to lose his/her money, one way or another.
 6. Originally posted by flavin:
i was going to big on an xbox 360 online. the bid was only at 10 bucks and had 2 minutes to go. i totally thought it was a scam but who knows. anwyays i wish i would have gotten out and bought a 360. then i could have sold it on ebay for 3x the original price
Well If I were you would have given it a try, because I mean its worth it for ten dollars, whether you won or loss lol. If you loss, it wouldn't have been that big of a difference, but if you won, you would've had the biggest deal on a 360 ever, of course being that it was legit lol.
