AMD to release 65nm parts early?

By Justin Mann

Could the 65nm CPUs from AMD come earlier than expected and arrive just a few weeks from now? While not that big of a shift, HKEPC is saying that the release date for the new parts from AMD will be December 5th. The new Brisbane core CPUs from AMD will offer the same performance levels and clock speeds that the existing CPUs, but will have a lower TDP, which gives longer life, more headroom and more potential for overclocking. Since AMD tends to get rid of older CPU stock quicker than Intel does, likely once 65nm begins to hit the shelves we'll be seeing them everywhere.

It wasn't that long ago that we heard release dates in 2007 as most likely, with an updated roadmap being published just a few days ago.

  1. Cool, does anyone knows the price these processors going to be?
