CNBC's Jim Goldman, who claims to have sources close to Apple's Asian manufacturing partners, today reported that Apple will launch its much rumored sub-notebook at Macworld in January and that a new 3G iPhone is set to hit store shelves by late May or early June.
According to Goldman, the ultra portable laptop will sport a 12-inch screen, employ NAND flash memory instead of a traditional hard disk drive, and will be 50 percent thinner than the company's existing MacBook Pro, making it the thinnest Mac laptop ever. The device will reportedly be priced aggressively at approximately $1500. Not surprisingly, Apple has declined comment on the rumors so we'll have to wait until the Macworld San Francisco kicks off on January 15 to find out.
