Intel to delay QX9770 say some
Among the good announcements out of Intel the past week came a slightly bad one as well. Various sources are stating that Intel will be delaying the Core 2 Extreme QX9770 CPU, which is one of their most expensive desktop CPUs aimed at the very high end of computing.
The $1400+ CPU is the successor to the QX9650, and was originally scheduled for a release this month. Now it may not be here until March, though at such a price I doubt many people will be disappointed by this. The CPU is the last in the current architecture before they will switch to Nehalem-core, which is supposed to yet again improve the performance of the already impressive Core 2 series.
