Google Suggest finally goes live

Google has announced that, over the next week, it will finally add Google Suggest functionality to its main search site. The feature has been a long time coming (four years actually) and already has made its way across much of the search giant’s empire, including Google Maps or YouTube and even the Firefox search box.

The auto-complete feature allows users to see the most commonly-searched phrases and number of search results for each phrase as it's typed into the search box. Google touts the service as being able to help formulate queries, reduce spelling errors, and saving users keystrokes. A similar feature can be found on a number of major competitors, including Yahoo and the recently-launched Cuil.
