PlayOn beta unlocks Netflix streaming for Xbox 360, PS3
Back in August we reported about a new Windows application that enables Hulu, ESPN, CBS, and YouTube video streaming from a PC directly to a PS3, Xbox 360 or HP MediaSmart TV. Dubbed PlayOn, the software is still in beta, but its promised Netflix Watch Now support has just launched.
For Xbox 360 owners this probably won’t mean much once the fall Xbox 360 update ships, though. PlayOn is accepting applications for beta testers, so if you’re interested check out the PlayOn page at the MediaMall site to access the 60-day free trial, after that it's $30. The full version of PlayOn is due out soon and should support the Wii by the end of 2008.
