Gateway intros all-in-one desktops with support for Windows 7 multi-touch

Gateway has introduced today a new line of all-in-one desktops that utilize Windows 7's multi-touch technology. The Gateway One ZX series comes in a few distinct flavors with a variety of configurations and price points.

The ZX4800 series offers the least expensive option which starts around $750 and is designed for tight environments like a dorm or kitchen, whereas the ZX68 can cost north of $1,400 and has media, productivity and gaming in mind. Gateway's press release offers one example configuration for each.

The ZX4800-02 features a 20" 1600x900 Ultrabright display, Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300 processor, GL40 Express chipset and GMA X4500HD graphics, 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, 750GB HDD, DVD burner, HD webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet, multi-in-one media card reader, six USB 2.0 ports, 5W speakers, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.


Meanwhile, the ZX6810-01 is better equipped with a 23" 1920x1080 display, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200S and GM45 Express chipset, 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670, 8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM, a 1TB HDD and 64GB SSD, an eSATA port, and a TV tuner with remote control.

Both the ZX4800 and ZX6800 will land on store shelves in late October or early November, with a high-performance model (FX6810-01) arriving later in the year. Catch Gateway's full press release with more detailed specifications on our forum.

All companies expect to release similar devices by the Windows 7 release deadline.
