Sony's Google TV controller shown off on ABC's Nightline

ABC Nightline recently aired a Google TV special that gives us a first glimpse of Sony's Google TV controller and a sneak preview of Sony's Google TV advertising campaign, as spotted by Engadget. The remote has two circular directional pads, a full QWERTY keyboard, volume buttons, channel selection buttons, play/pause buttons, and a load more. In other words, there's everything you would need to watch TV and the Web from your living room couch.

When Google TV was revealed five months ago, Sony was expected to introduce both a standalone TV model and set top box-type unit incorporating a Blu-ray Disc drive. Now we also know that it will be available in several sizes: 24-inch, 32-inch, 40-inch, and 46-inch (measured diagonally).

If the above video doesn't work for you (it won't unless you're in the US), check out this version on YouTube. For those who just can't wait, Sony Electronics is currently running a contest giving you a chance to win a Sony Internet TV. For the rest of you, Sony is holding its official Google TV event on October 12.
