The OS aside, the PlayStation Phone will come with a custom Sony Marketplace for purchasing and downloading games designed for the new platform. The device itself sports a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and a screen ranging from 3.7 to 4.1 inches. The handset also includes a long touchpad in the center which is apparently multitouch, as well as familiar PlayStation shoulder buttons. There's no Sony Memory Stick slot, but there is support for microSD cards.

The model pictured above is still in prototyping mode. Thus, there isn't a custom skin and the software is still rather buggy. In any case, a 2010 release is possible but 2011 is looking much more realistic. Can Sony Ericsson make the former possible or will it have to settle for the latter?
If I can get Crash Bandicoot for it then i'll get it
Crash Team Racing FTW.
I kinda wanna buy this as I have the PSP Slim and want a new PSP but don't really need a phone as I have my BlackBerry and if I wanted a new phone I would get Windows Phone 7 anyways. hmmm...
this might actually work.It will boost game sales if it supports PSP GO games and increase popularity for sonys mem card only handhelds which could insure the psp 2 has a soft landing when it comes out.
I hope they change the grip of the controller, I hated the flat grip in the old PSP,
Yeah this looks like it`s going be a failed attempt. Why get a phone that you`ll be playing on all the time, kill the battery and not be able to call afterwards.
I`m sure it will have a lot of hyp around it though.
I think the selection of games will be a big factor in deciding if this thing ends up being a success or a failure. Are there going to be legitimate PSP games or are they going to be stupid simplistic flash games like the iPhone has? Also, will it be less than an iPhone? Because you know if it's the same price (or more) than an iPhone, everyone's just going to go with the iPhone because Apple is "cool."
Knowing SONY and how they always perfect things, Iam sure the battery life wont be a very big deal, they will give extra batteries, or maybe it is solar powered, or even maybe micro nuclear energy, in anycase its going to be a very big sale and worth it to
I don't know if I'd ever be interested in playing games on a funky iphone/PSP hybrid, I suppose it would depend on what games are available, and in what format. If it did end up getting some good games, I could totally see myself getting in trouble at work for "checking my voicemail"
this will be an awesome phone, but this phone looks ugly!!! come on sony i expect better from u guys!
Sounds interesting... Maybe will buy this over the Android but I guess we will see! ![]()
