T-Mobile gets Dell's Streak 7, LG's G-Tablet

Not to be outdone by the Motorola Xoom on Verizon, T-Mobile has announced that it will be home to LG's G-Slate and Dell's Streak 7. Unsurprisingly, both run Google's Android operating system, though the LG device is loaded with version 3.0 Honeycomb while Dell's runs version 2.2 Froyo. Little is known about the G-Slate at the moment, but the Streak 7 has been fully undressed today at CES.

Like the Xoom, Nvidia's dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 is at the heart of Dell's 7-inch tablet. It features a 7-inch WVGA display with Gorilla Glass protection, 16GB of internal memory (expandable by up to 32GB via an SD card slot), and a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera accompanied by Qik Video Chat. The Streak 7 is hailed as T-Mobile's first 4G tablet, so it'll run on the carrier's HSPA+ network.

Pricing hasn't been revealed yet but the Streak 7 should be available via T-Mobile and Dell sometime over the next couple of weeks.

  1. You know what. I don't care what the ITU says. Even if they classify HSPA+ as 4G no US carrier runs a true HSPA+ network. HSPA+ has peak rates of 42mbps. In the US their HSPA caps at 14.4Mbps. These tablets=3G+.

  2. Hmm, Shall I add a Dell Streak 7 to my T-mobile account.... I wonder...
