Renders of 9-inch HP Topaz tablet leaked

It's probably safe to say that everyone already expected HP to unveil something tablet-related during its February 9 webOS event, and newly leaked photos have all but confirmed those suspicions. Engadget has received an internal mockup of HP's new "Topaz" webOS tablet, which is one of at least two slates the company plans to launch this year. The Topaz, seen below, is a 9-inch device, while HP is preparing a 7-incher called "Opal".

Both are said to carry an unnamed 1.2GHz processor and a front-mounted camera, but detailed specs aren't available yet. Based on a leaked table of launch dates, the 7-inch Opal will launch this September in Wi-Fi and WWAN models. Wireless partners seem to be AT&T (July 2012) and Verizon for the US, Rogers and Bell in Canada, and SFR, O2, VF, and Orange throughout Europe. Topaz might arrive before Opal, but that's still unconfirmed.

  1. These days all I want is the WiFi and a Clear 4G WiFi hotspot service! If they keep these devices under 500. This will give us more options.

  2. I hope they allow users to choose which OS is loaded. I want the Android OS.

...It's a palm tablet. Obviously it will run webOS....
