Wacom has unveiled the latest addition to the Cintiq line of artist and designer pen displays, aptly known as the Wacom Cintiq 13HD. As the name suggests, it carries a 13.3-inch Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080) with a 178 degree viewing angle in a portable solution that could be the perfect complement to Wacom’s desktop-sized drawing tools.
The Cintiq 13HD measures 14.75 x 9.75 x 0.5 inches and weighs 2.65 pounds – a far cry from the entry-level desktop units that start at 22 inches. It’s designed to connect to your computer via HDMI, DVI, VGA or Mini DisplayPort, giving you a 2,048 pressure-level pen, support for 16.7 million colors and even tilt recognition.

The included pen comes with nine different nibs, or tips – five standard, three felt and one stroke. The kit also ships with a carrying case and a desk stand. The stand is detachable but when in use, it can prop the display at 22, 35 and 50 degree angles. What’s more, the stand includes a USB 2.0 connector.

Other notable features include four user-programmable shortcut buttons which can change function automatically depending on which app you are using. There’s also a 4-position rocker ring and home button – the former being fully customizable as well. We are told that the display carries a 250cd/m2 brightness rating and blankets 75 percent of the Adobe RGB color gamut.
The Wacom Cintiq 13HD is expected to ship next month in the US for $999.
Not very on-the-go if you still have to attach it to a computer.
I'm waiting for the Microsoft Surface with 512 levels of pressure sensitivity.
This is nice
