The C1 Cafe in New Zealand is installing a pneumatic tube food delivery system that will deliver hamburgers across the eatery at around 87 mph. The system, which will connect the kitchen to each table in the cafe, will be used by the cooks to shoot burgers directly to hungry patrons. C1 already uses smaller tubes to deliver order slips from cafe area to the kitchen.

In the video embedded above, C1's chef Richie Ward demonstrates how the new system works. According to him, small stainless steel capsules, capable of holding 3 burgers each, will carry food through the tubes. The idea of having this kind of delivery system first struck the owner Sam Crofskey's mind while watching cartoon television show Futurama.
