Instagram on Tuesday launched the latest version of its Android and iOS app. The update adds a wealth of new creative tools as well as improvements to existing tools to help further customize user-uploaded images.

As outlined in a blog post on the matter, you'll now see a new wrench icon when selecting a filter. Simply tap the icon to launch a tray of photo editing tools that allows you to adjust things like filter strength, brightness, contrast, warmth, saturation, highlights, shadows, vignette and sharpness.

There's also an adjust tool that allows you to crop and straighten your photo at the same time.

Existing tools that are now improved include straighten, border, blur / tilt shift, crop, lux and rotate. Instagram has also simplified video uploads for users on iOS.

Details on how to properly use the new and updated creative tools for Instagram can be found on the company's help page.

In a recent interview, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom admitted that there is an appetite for more advanced tools to let people be more creative on top of their photos. He pointed out that there are some really expensive options and some low-quality choices but now, users can simply come to Instagram to get photos looking the way they want.

Instagram version 6.0 is available as of writing via the App Store for iOS users and here for Android owners.
