Super Mario Bros. is an iconic game through and through but truth be told, you can only play it so many times before you’re left wanting more. Sure, Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels (known as Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan and part of Super Mario All-Stars in the US years later on the SNES) offered a bit more variety but wouldn’t it be great if you could just create your own levels?
An upcoming Wii U title called Mario Maker allows you to do just that.
In addition to level editing, the game will allow players to switch between classic 8-bit Super Mario Bros. graphics and New Super Mario Bros. visuals on the fly.
No word yet on whether Mario Maker will arrive as a standalone title or if it’ll instead show up in the Wii U eShop.
