Doom 3 Multiplayer impressions

HomeLAN got a chance to play the Doom III deathmatch demo that’s on display at QuakeCon. The four player deathmatch took place on a level co-designed by id Software and Splash Damage.
The Shack has also posted a couple of screenshots that look kind of ok, but don't show off much of the eyecandy.

I'm not so excited about what is being shown at QuakeCon given that is multiplayer gameplay only (which IMO is getting more generic, or perhaps I'm just jealous given the lack of a fast enough net connection), in any case, I expect Doom III to shine in the single player area more than anything.

  1. these are the first steps towards a much anticipated shift in graphics quality.................to have multiplayer, in this title is huge...................nothing beats the experience of matching wits with a live opponent...................this is with everything turned off and 6x4 rez, so you're right, julio..................not everyone will have a what it takes to play
  2. At this point I’m betting that HL2 will look better, and that Deus Ex will have better single player. Of course, Doom 3 will rock too, which is why I’m planning on upgrading and buying all of them. So much for visiting my gf…hope she doesn’t leave me :crosses fingers:
