Excellent 2D and 3D picture quality.
Luxurious design.
Affordable.
Performance is surprisingly good, possessing rich, natural colors with solid black levels coupled with near uniform back-lighting.
Some marginal colour balance issues and slight backlight clouding.
Fiddly operating system.
Build quality isn't exactly class leading and no doubt a reason for its roughly $2,000 asking price.
Not 3D compatible.

Despite the best efforts of a lab-coated George Takei in Sharp’s ‘Quattron’ TV ad campaign, the brand’s unique four-colour technology hasn’t fired the imagination of Joe Public as much as was hoped.I found Quattron’s...

We don’t think Sharp’s engineers got adequate kudos for creating Quattron quad-pixel tech in the first place; it was a remarkably inventive bit of engineering. Now with this TV they’ve pushed the concept forward yet again. Well worth...

It’s been a while now since we had a look at one of Sharp’s LCD TVs, which made their delivery of a the new LC40LE831E quite timely, since we’re always eager to see what the Japanese LCD innovator is up to. The company has a tradition...

The 40LE831E is ultimately not quite as desirable as the 46LE831E, partly due to the way its smaller size decreases its 3D impact, and partly due to the 40LE831E’s marginally less sharp HD pictures. But it’s still a very fine TV for its...

If you’re concerned about Internet connectivity, then rivals such as Samsung offer a more comprehensive range of on-line services. However, I remain a fan of the rich, vivid images produced by Sharp’s four-colour Quattron technology and...

About as serious as LED backlighting gets, there’s a lot to like about this 3D Quattron TV. Proficient with colour, contrast and clean 3D, it's not quite as enjoyable as a Panasonic plasma, but not to far behind. A good size for both 3D and...

For a little over $2,000 retail, Sharp's 60-inch LED HDTV, the LC-60, is worthy of your consideration. While it doesn't necessarily "win" any particular category in terms of its performance, it's far from the worst. While it's clear to...

The Sharp Aquos LC-40LE831E LED TV has its plus points, such as its impressive 3D performance. But its 2D picture quality could be better and its Internet features lag behind the...
