The Radeon HD 2900XT does exceptionally well in Prey, defeating not only the GeForce 8800 GTS (640MB) graphics card but also the GeForce 8800 GTX. This certainly is impressive performance from the Radeon HD 2900XT given its price tag. This suggests that the new Radeon HD 2900XT with the current Catalyst drivers will perform very well in games based on the Doom 3 engine.

Interestingly, while the Radeon HD 2900XT has been dominating the GeForce 8800 GTS cards, it fails to do so in Supreme Commander. At 1920x1200 the Radeon HD 2900XT lost to the GeForce 8800 GTS (320MB) graphics card by 3fps. This is first time in our tests we have seen the Radeon HD 2900XT do so poorly though it's not too far behind.
