Interface & Application of tweaks
The
default X-Setup GUI is fairly easy to navigate through, with available
categories initially being 9 & from there on these split into further
subdirectories (Essentially it’s like navigating through Windows Explorer).
These are all divided fairly logically, e.g. you won’t find the Graphics card
sections in Software, rather you’ll find them in the Hardware
listing. Here’s another shot of X-Setup in action.
Once
you’ve found the tweaks you’re after, obviously the next step is to apply
them. Options are displayed in a variety of different manners depending on the
setting, e.g. Radio buttons, Text boxes, Numeric boxes, etc. Either way, once
you’ve made you choice you should hit the Apply Changes button to
confirm, & apply the changes you’ve made.
Depending on the type of
setting altered you may need to Log-Off or Restart the affected Application (Or
Operating System), while others will not need any system state changes to occur.
When closing X-Setup you will be asked whether or not you wish to
Log-Off/Restart accordingly.
It’s
all fairly simple, & all fairly obvious. There’s not too much else that
could be done to enhance X-Setup friendliness. For those of you who may be a bit
overwhelmed by the amount of settings available for you to mess with there’s
always the Search engine (Select Extra then Search) to make it
even easier to find what you want, e.g. Searching for Office XP yields
the following results;
Selecting
from any of the returned results will bring you directly to that Plug-in as well.
Overall
the User Interface is faultless, there’s not really anything more that you
could want done to it as it stands.
