Much, much better, thank you for getting rid of the semi-Barbie look

Where is the Mark All As Read option now? That is a must have feature for a forum.

Noticed less comments on news posts, I think I know why.

Before there was a link to post a comment when it had no comments on it, now a link only shows up if someone already posts a comment, then the links shows up with the current number.

I still love the changes to the new site, great job :)

Doesn't look half bad at all... Will take some time to get used to, but that is the case whenever there's a change...

But one thing that I first thought was gone, and now have found only changed place is the drop-down forum navigation menu at the bottom of the page... It's gone from being under the lower right part of the thread to the lower left, with the permission having moved to where it used to be..

Are there any special reason for this?
It is quite seldom I have the need to check what permission I have, but I do use the drop-down very often, and thus I'd prefer it to be on the right-hand side...

Aside from that I've not found any problems yet (but I'm sure I'll come up with a few suggestion after a while ;))

It's right in the middle of the page at the bottom of the forums. It took me a bit to find it as well.

It took me a bit to find it as well. It's also in the drop down of Quick Links, on the top menu. It's gone from being under the lower right part of the thread to the lower left, with the permission having moved to where it used to be..The navigation drop down is on the lower right, not left, at least that's for me..

Indeed, that was my ignorance of left and right showing through ;)

I meant that it's gone from being on the lower left hand side to the lower right.
Not really a big deal, as I finally found out how to "close" the posting rules.
(But if that'll last I don't know).

BTW: Anyone else having a problem with the forum not remembering your login?
When I use the QuickLogin at the top of the forum frontpage I make sure the "Remember me" is ticked, but I have to log in anew every time I come here.
(Yes, cookies are enabled, using Opera 7.54)

I had that problem right after the change in format, but it seems to have resolved itself now. As far as I know I haven't changed anything, but I'm not having to log in now.

Yes, I found the same, I too don't have to log-in, as before.

Hopefully it'll have fixed itself here too...
If it doesn't, chances are the problem is on my part since it (now) works for you...

EDIT:
Seems like it works when I log in on the front-page comments first :)

When someone finds the time, could they please make the WHOLE BUTTON "onmouseover/rolloveron" when there is more than one page in a thread? You have to be exactly on the little number to be able to click it. (see at the bottom or top of this page, "page 4 of 4 etc.").

I was wondering, do you think I should spend more time tweaking the forum colors?

Didou

It looks fine to me.:)

Maurice

Looks OK to me, not worth your time tweaking any more, Julio., in my opinion.
Can I just say that upon arriving on site to see replies, the view "jigs" about for a couple of seconds before settling down, it's no problem, & perhaps the glitch is at my end.

The "Number of Active Users today" at the bottom of the forum-overview does not seem to work. I can switch my browser off, get a coffee, come back 20 minutes later and reconnect. My name (or any other name) is not in that list.

Looking again at around 1.00pm GMT, the names now appear (Fixed?)
Also, I've noticed that we must have lost some 3'000 members!
(or was the previous number of 15'000 wrong, as discussed in one of Maurice's posts a while ago)?

The active users command has never worked properly so long as I've been around. Overcounts, undercounts, and florida style recounts are frequent. Most usually I see it incorrectly citing 0 active users in a day during a period that I know wasn't the reset.

The CSS is still screwy for me, but at this point I lean towards thinking it's my machine. No biggie.

The load's a little worse on the dialup, but I'll live there too. My biggest complaint is the quick reply box- you have to pick a thread's post now to quick reply to, I wish it had a default value or it. I realize this is for the tree view..

I do like the richer quick reply box, though.

Goalie, have a look here about your CSS-problem. Maybe that helps?

Sing to the tune of "7 drunken nights":

Ah, ye're drunk, ye're drunk, you silly old fool
still ye can nae see...
What'is this new my.TS.forum doing
where my old "User C.P." used to be?

Rather, call it UserProfile or UserPreferences or something like that (or leave as it was).

I agree, I knew what it was, but it can easily be confused for something else. I think it needs a more finite term Like User Preferences.

I don't think the logo should look like that.

Using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20041026 Firefox/1.0RC1.

On mine, latest version of Firefox, I can't even see the "Bandwidth by the Planet" and logo at all. It's blocked by an ad.

Still using Firefox 1.0PR, and the logo is identical to Mict's picture. The rest of that strip is completely blue, no ad or suppressed ad place-holder.
Opera 7.54 has it correct, with a white band where the banner-ad would normally be.

We gotta get through Thanksgiving before we can worry about Christmas and all that good will stuff :) But I guess for you and Per you don't have to worry about Thanksgiving

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anybody, my remarks were not to be taken seriously, they were made lightheartedly, in response to a remark in the same vein, I'd be the first to admit that we in England, on the whole, are more apathetic about religion these days, compared to you Americans, who are very defensive about the subject, an admirable trait.
Me, I was always weak about religion, my late wife's faith was very strong, mine was mostly shattered when I lost her to cancer, at the young age of sixty-two.

Hope I am forgiven for my rash remarks, Poertner?

No worries at all. I was simply stating that we have one more holiday to go before Christmas comes. Then my last remark was just signifying that you and Per don't actually celebrate Thanksgiving, so your next big holiday would be Christmas (I'm assuming). No hard feelings at all Maurice.
