Hi guys,
I build my computer some days ago and I was with no problems.
But after I tried to play GTA 3 and FIFA 2006, for example, it beggins crashing.
I can't play more than 2 minutes in a game and my computer gets frozen or crashed.
After this, it starts giving me BSOD errors even in Windows XP (not in a game).
Like I said, my system is:
Windows XP SP2
A8V / AMD64 3000+ / 2x512 Kingston DDR400 / nVidia AGP FX 5500
I hope someone can analyze this minidumps and tell me what I have to do.
I'm testing memories, but I think that aren't them.
It isn't really getting hot. About 37 Celsius CPU, 30 Celsius Motherboard and 39 Celsius VGA.
What should I do?
I've already tried update some drivers, but it didn't work too.
Help me, please!!!
Thanks,
Cheers,

Hi HacKiller,
I've investigated your minidumps and the culprit is faulty ram.
Suggestion
1. Reseat the memory stick to another memory slot
2. Downclock the ram
3. Clean the dust inside the computer case
4. Make sure that the ram is compatible to the motherboard
If it still crashes, diagnostic which memory stick is faulty
1. Take out one memory stick. If windows does not crash, the removed memory stick is faulty.
2. If you have only one memory stick, replace the ram

Maybe some good news...
I've tried changing RAM slots, letting just one memory, using no dual channel, but anyway it continues on locking.
It would be so bad luck having 2 memories with problems.
So, like I saw in some forums, I tried changing memory timings and apparently the machine didn't get BSOD anymore on Windows.
But the problem with games, persists.
I installed Windows XP again and with no drivers, my game continues on freezing.
I updated nvidia drivers, no luck.
I updated all via drivers and all another drivers, no luck yet.
So, I decided starting playing with some VGA stuff.
My videocard is AGP 8x and my motherboard supports AGP 8x.
But, just for curious, I tried forcing AGP 4x on BIOS.
After that, it looks like not locking anymore.
I played FIFA 06 and GTA 3 for sometime and they did work normally.
I didn't have enough time to test it, but I'm almost sure that now it's working correctly.
What could that be?
Why drecreasing agp slot speed would solve my problem?
Anyway, I would like to work with AGP at 8x, if possible.
Any ideas or suggestions?!
Thanks a lot!

Hi HacKiller,
I believe that your windows have multiple culprits. Most of your minidumps indicate that it is bad ram. Reseat memory stick resolve the ram problem and then another culprit is display card. After you reduce the AGP from 8x to 4x and no more BSOD. Maybe the video card has temporary hardware problem or it is incompatible with the motherboard. Upgrade the BIOS of the motherboard may resolve problem.
You can verify my finding by posting all of your system event 1001 and 1003 here.
Cpc2004, I notice that after I changed the memory timings and got no more BSOD, when I was playing a game and it freezes, windows doesn't create a minidump.
Like I said before, that minidumps that you analyzed were old minidumps before I played with memories timings.
So after that, no more BSOD and no minidumps.
But games are still freezing, so I force AGP 4x and it seems no more freezing.
Could that be a incompatible problem like you said.
But, what do you think about being voltage problem?
My case is a Satellite 511K X-Blade and I was noticing now, that it comes with a 270W power supply.
Changing the power supply would resolve?
Setting high vga voltage at 8x would resolve?
What do you thing about my problem right now.
Thanks a lot.

Hi HacKiller,
I am not a hardware guy. You had better open a new thread at hardware forum.

I found my problem. I had dual channel ddr and the main board was obsolite...all it takes is a BIOS update, but i sugest taking it to a pro to do that, since BIOS updates are extremely dangerous for the mboard...now it runs perfeclty :). If nothing else works, just try updating your BIOS if you have dual channel...or even if not. Doesn`t hurt to try.
