HP DV6648SE - Replace Vista with XP - Has anyone done it yet?

I recently purchased a HP DV6648SE laptop from Bestbuy.

I was wondering if anyone has successfully removed Vista and installed XP Pro and have everything working fine.

I tried but it is not recognizing the hard drive at the start of the XP installation process.

If anyone knows a fix for that then I can continue on trying to get Windows XP Pro installed successfully.

Hi,

A number of people have done that !

Are you sure you want to remove Vista completely ?

Think about cloning the Vista partition first - HERE (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=185731) (preliminary boot hack).

or maybe dual booting could be an option - HERE (http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-vista-xp-vista-already-1946.html) (you may need a Vista DVD)

If your determined to replace Vista, you`ll need an DOS boot disk and XP CD - HERE (http://www.removevista.com/remove_uninstall_delete_windows_vista_xp_c.html)

That`s assuming you don`t have a Vista DVD,of course
