atwood7fan 11-04-2007, 10:00 AM So basically gthis is how I fixed it; I couldn't prove ownership of the dell m170 I needed help with... so I told dell the problem was with my 700m, and the helped me... I know it's not exactly truthful but it worked.
hello,
can you help me for the password administrator of the bios for a dell D620 latitude .
thank you very much
Daveskater 11-04-2007, 01:00 PM sorry, just noticed that thread has been closed :(
however you should read this thread (http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic90285.html)
thank you to have answered me also quickly.
yes I saw :o the subject is closed I cannot poster my information.
have another idea.
thank you
howard_hopkinso 11-04-2007, 01:26 PM That thread is indeed closed and is for information only.
I suggest you try contacting Dell and see if they are willing to help you.
There are only a couple of guys on TS who can actually unlock Dell D620`s, whether they will reply to this thread, is a different matter.
The only other option is to search Google for Dell password unlocking and pay to have the password removed.
Regards Howard :)
damage I arrive too late it is necessary to pay to make remove the password.
thank you nevertheless :o
bushwhacker 11-04-2007, 04:59 PM Post it to here please.

wtfyla65 11-04-2007, 10:51 PM Sorry, but i am a newbee and trying to help a friend. The laptop is a Inspiron 600m, Service tag is 4QW5K81-595B. The system will not let me access the bios settings and keeps asking for the admin password. I have tried Dell and that does not work. On another site i read remove the cmos battery, but I have also read that does not help. The system wont allow her to reinstall windows as the ntoskrnl.exe will not load. Is there a master password that will over ride whatever is set in the Bios admin password?
Thank you for your help,

evvstyle 11-05-2007, 12:48 AM Hi, I lent out my dell to my buddy awhile back, and i just got it back (finally) and I have the gray screen of death. I have checked online and have not found a latitude.exe that works for the -595B so im asking if anyone can get me the administrator password for this that would be awesome!

mscrx 11-05-2007, 07:23 AM did you put the password on it and forgot it or did your "buddy" put it on the laptop? why don't you ask him for the password then?
plus, if you are the legal owner of this laptop you can also call dell and let them reset the pw. thats a matter of minutes....
mscrx
mscrx 11-05-2007, 07:26 AM download the dst cd and change the service tag. this should as a side effect also remove the bios settings password. don't forget to change back the service tag afterwards to save your warranty if you still have one.
here's the link to the software:
http://www.download.centre4service.com/software1.html
I pm you the password for the rar file
hope this helps!

aztek_emperor 11-05-2007, 11:47 AM Hi rustman
My name is Adrian live en Mexico.
I recently bought a dell latitude D520 (without battery) from a garage sale in the USA, unfortunately when I got home (Mexico) and finally was able to buy the battery it has some kind of Admin and configuration password lock problem.
Unfortunately I dont have the info from the seller and besides Im days away from the seller.
Im so desperate and I know you are the one that can help me as you helped many peple. I really need the laptop becasue im a teacher and
as you know or not here in Mexico teachers dont get paid very well, so I bought it with sacrifice to use it for my work and to have my students
work on it as well.
Was willing to use the paper clip but wasnt able to find the chip and so I read this model dosent have one.
SERVICE TAG : 4LYT3B1-595B

Ididmyc600 11-05-2007, 12:30 PM Hi
there are 3 options for your problem.
1) scrap the drive its not, i repeat not possible to unlock one without losing the data on it.
2) do a google for "repair station" they unlock drives for a price but they get blanked in the process. (not all drives supported)
3) search the threads in the mobile computing section for a guy called Rustam, he can help you if you can pin him down.
oh yes there is a fourth option, go to my site www.ihatedell.info and read it.
Regards
ihatedellsomuch 11-05-2007, 01:19 PM Hello

splitpin2008 11-05-2007, 01:52 PM hi all,
im a bit confused! i have a Dell C600 which has a admin password, which i need disabled.
having spent a few days going through the posts on this site, i think there are 2, maybe 3 ways round this...
1/ short the chip
2/ get a password from a member called Rustam, if he can be found...
or 3/ download a file from ihatedell.com....
i dont like the idea of 1/
from what i can see Rustsam hasnt been around for a while...
and im well confused at what i need to download / run from the website...
can anyone point me in the right direction?

dweebdogg 11-05-2007, 08:34 PM I did option 1 (formating the whole drive) - but now my 60 GB drive says it's only 2 gb large?
Edited by Moderator: Removed quote. There`s no need to quote the post directly above your own, unless you`re only replying to a specific section, in which case you would only quote that section. ;)
evvstyle 11-06-2007, 12:29 AM I did call dell, and they told me to reset the jumpers (which i do not know where / even how to do) so, much help that was. And the background of why it is like this really isnt your business, but if you must know i lent it to my best friend "brother" so he could type out this report, and never returned it. And after all the court appearances i finally got it back like this.
mscrx 11-06-2007, 03:56 AM lol sorry but not even the coffee makers at dell would tell to reset a latitude d820 with jumpers... but yeah right, it is not my business.
it so funny to read the bios pw stories here. anyways wish you good luck with getting the pw resetted. maybe you find some useful information here:
http://www.download.centre4service.com/software1.html
or some of the guys with the pw generators help you out. be aware that some of them charge you for that...
cheers
mscrx
alidabiri 11-06-2007, 08:09 AM try this:
get a win-98 boot disk from here www.bootdisk.com
boot your system with this disk.
do fdisk
delete the partition that's already there
create partition
turn machine off
format the drive
then install xp or whatever.
Tweet 11-06-2007, 09:04 AM I looked on the above site, and looked under the XPS models for the pic to show me were the chip is, so that I may short it out. The problem is. the pic that is posted is not the XPS m140. That pic shows both memory slots in the same place, and the chip on the side of the memory slots. On the XPS m140, you have one slot under the keyboard, and the 2nd on the bottom of the laptop. If anyone has shorted this model or has the knows the way to the chip, please help me get there!!! Or if i over looked the right pic on the site, please show me the correct pic, thanks again all!!

bushwhacker 11-08-2007, 02:29 AM Hello.
Have you removed the laptop battery and the CMOS Battery ( It is located in the small closure inside the battery door) ?
If you remove it, leave it off for few minutes, put the main battery back in ( not CMOS).
Press and hold CTRL while you press the power button. The Main memory should clear up the password and let you in the BIOS.
hi2kay 11-08-2007, 08:06 AM Hi Bushwhacker! I have removed the CMOS Battery no luck with that. When you say located in the small closure inside the battery door.. do you mean the main battery?
Thank you Sir
