Installed new graphics card (Game freeze)
Hey,
Got something for yah. I installed a new graphics card today in my PC and when I play a game it locks up. The error i receive is telling me the driver has stopped responding. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the card multiple times and used the updated drivers off the site. I tried calling HP but they said it will cost me $99 dollars to diagnose the computer and another $59 to fix the issue over the phone what a joke! The NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS is a bit dated and imo not really suited for gaming at least with the latest games. But since you say you installed a new one I'm assuming you had one before? Did you uninstall those drivers first? Try Drive Sweeper to clean everything out then install the latest drivers for your 8400 maybe that'll do the trick if something is left over and conflicting from your original one. Or maybe the game just doesn't support that card which is also possible. What game is it? Only thing that comes to mind atm, hope that helps a bit.
And ya that is some nonsense with HP charging that much...no wonder they're lagging behind everyone. |
