yes, i bought the ink from bargains .com or something bargains .com I am supposed to buy #50 Lexmark black ink and select #48 during installation. the new ink I have now matches my old black ink cartrdge that i used to have. One more thing. How the h*** do u install Windows Xp Service Pack 2 on your com[puter without any problems on your computer? I downloaded the stuff to a disk. I also downloaded it from windows update. Afetr the installation thing was done (took a long time), I had to restart my computer for service pack 2 to take effect. But the compuetr wouldnt log me on. It said there was a problem. There was a file or wutever. The file waslike Bad_spooler_header. Well, it did say Bad_ in front. header wasin there. there was a word in the middle with two 0's. bad_pool_header. something like that. anyway, how can iget my pc to adjust to service pack 2. cuz i went into safe mofe and removed the thing so my compuetr would go back 2 normal.

The best free one right now is avast which can be found here
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

as for a paid one I suggest kapersky ..It is very good and does a great job it digs deep and knows what to do with a virus when it finds one.. I personally been using it a long time now .. Problem is the license is pretty pricy but well worth it..

Personally I get rid of norton it basically blotware but then again it is comfort software like IE is a comfort browser for some people (I do not know why the spyware infested patch upon patch IE)

as for spyware the best ones are Adaware, spybot both free best paid one is Pest PAtrol..
Hope this helps you

sorry about answering the antivirus thing this what happens when you get old or in a rush..
The printer problem is more than likely a bad ink head have you tried cleaning it out at all usally a small neddle will work with a little bit of alcohol pure like wood grain (NOT beer or vodka)

as for the SP2 problem personally I do not recommend it if you have a good firewall and antivirus this is basically usless. This just a MS way to keep people happy becuse there next major os is still a ways away..

Your problem is SOFTware, not hardware. Unknown printmonitor, remember?

Also, have you checked that there may be an obstruction inside the printer, between cartridge and cartridge holder? Have you cleaned that area?

Yours is a dirt-cheap printer (about $75- when new) from a company that is not exactly known for high quality. In all the time you have wasted sofar, you could have delivered a few newspapers, or tossed hamburgers, and earned enough money to pay for a decent brand printer, such as Canon. I bet those cartridges your father bought, cost more than a new printer. Some bargain...

my 1200 dpi lexmark z11 cost me about 22 USD and it works fine, just so long as i give it a good kick every now and then (steel toed boots work great but break the housing).

What have you been doing all this time? Look at the date:

Clean the printer cartridge head with isopropanol (in any pharmacy) on a cotton swab.
Someone mentioned using a hoover, but check with the lady of the house first!

I know this is an older thread, but our company has come across this virus, too. The best program we've come across that removes the program and all the infected registry files is MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware. This is the silver bullet that kills the entire beast. Is it just me or is this one of the most nasty bits of malware out there right now? I've even had it keep me from downloading popular anti-spyware programs

How do I remove all these Adware viruses? My Ad-Aware SE Personal is updated but it never finds these files and I delete all the files that came up. What should I do? My NAV 2004 says "delete failed" on all those viruses.
hi,

yes, NAV firewall keeps on asking lot of things. disturbs a lot. I always prefer kaspersky Internet Security, it's cheap and reliable. Moreover, For ad-aware SE, after scan, it shows what it has detected, but all are unchecked, you need to right click there and click on select all and then press next. it will remove all. I will always suggest you to get KIS 2009 license version, and remove all others from your system. install KIS 2009, disable windows firewall, update the antivirus, reboot in safe mode(u have already done lots of time) just onces more. perform full system scan. I am sure it will help a lot. Better, before purchasing you can try downloading the trial version, that it as good as license version but just for 30 days.

Good Luck.
