Counter-Strike: Source on low settings with performance CFGs.

I think World of Warcraft is a good system needed game, especially in giant areas like the main cities ( I do not play this game so I don't know the names ).
Also, STALKER is a great choice ( don't know if you put it up ) it's one of my favorite games and it was designed in DX8 and has DX9 dynamic lighting ( which looks amazing ) and needs hardly any newer system specs to run decently, although the higher you pump up the graphics the better the RAM you'll need. Here are some screenies of my STALKER: ![]() ![]() ![]() I also record myself playing for people who are new to the game.

Er, TimeParadox, I really don't think Stalker will run on a MX400.... though will it run on a FX5200, PCI?

The minimum specs have been changed and I added Stalker a while back keeping those in mind.

I see you added Oblivion, also.
I am glad you updated it, because now I know a few more games that will run on my system.

I don't think the "with low settings and tweaks" on Doom 3 is necessary, since there have been games added that are considerably more demanding than Doom 3.

What about The Settlers? Dunno about it being great, but it's not too bad.

Umm I'm sorry, but yes, Doom 3 needs that on their. I have 2 computers, one with a better processor than required and one without, one with a 5200 and one with a radeon 9250, and they both require tweaking and low settings.
Edit, I also must add that even at that it runs at 15-25, sometimes it'll hit 30, fps. Same with HL2. Last edited by mopar man; 03-14-2008 at 02:22 PM.. |

Then why would Doom 3 even be on there in the first place? If you're getting performance that poor even with tweaks, low settings, and hardware around the computer this list is based on, how did it end up there? Also, it says "Call of Duty all," but I seriously doubt a 6200 would get satisfactory performance on Call of Duty 4 (this is probably because it hasn't been updated), and there are no such notes on FEAR requiring low settings, only recommending DX8 shaders, though on the computer mentioned there would likely be some shadow and lighting adjusting required as well.

Doom 3 is playable with a tweak that replaces most of the textures in the game with ones that lower-end cards can process much more easily. So I didn't feel it needs to be removed. Also, CoD 4 is quite playable on a 6200 and a 1.5GHz P4 with the latest patch and all settings on low. I wouldn't have put it there if I hadn't tried it and you can also check out this video for proof. Lastly, FEAR auto-detects the shadows and such, so I didn't feel the need to mess with those. The DX8 shaders provide the biggest boost in performance, which is why that particular recommendation sticks.

Hey, Rage, mind linking me to those textures?
Also, I am pretty sure you might as well add The Elder Scrolls: Arena up. It is a free download on elderscrolls.com and runs with Dosbox. |

Right, I agree 100% with Tiburium Wars. I run it perfectly (low settings) on my rig.

Sorry for the long wait guys, list updated.
Thanks for the contributions. ![]() Regarding the patch for Doom 3, it's apparently intended for users with Voodoo cards, but I think they'd work on a newer card too. Unfortunately, the site hosting the patch is down right now. I don't know if it'll come online, but here is the link anyways. Here is a link to some screenshots showing the new textures. Not pretty, but not that bad if the game runs at 60+FPS IMO. Last edited by Rage_3K_Moiz; 04-12-2008 at 02:47 PM.. |

Rage, I am just wondering whether there was a reason behind not putting Elder Scrolls: Arena up?
