.000 file extension?

I have been looking forever on how to get this to work but I need to be able to open a .000, .001., 002., ect. file and view what's inside it. I cannot figure this out. It's for an old video game favorite of mine called War Wind, and I need to be able to view the things inside the .00* files so I can make a mod for it. I have tried winrar, and 7-zip but with no success. I keep getting the "damaged archive" message when I try to open it. Any ideas on how I can view the files inside these? Thank you in advance.

Well, wolvman, if you wouldn't try modding multiple games at once, all by your lonesome, and allow someone to attempt to start a mod without you... ;)

Anyway, to be honest, I think modding warwind straight up will be hard as hell. Maybe you/we should use another game?

Meh, still not changing my mind, and I don't care how hard it is... I just need a way to get those darn files open..

That's what I thought, but winrar is unable to open any of the files. It just says corrupt or unknown file type when I tell winrar to open it. I know for a fact that it isn't corrupt though as the game plays and install fine using those exact same files. It's just that they won't open outside of playing the game which is what I really need to do. Winrar knows that there are files inside each of the .00* files though as it will tell me when I check them. Maybe I could convert the files somehow to somthing that winrar can open, IDK?

usually the file extensions with .001, .002 etc have been splitted using hjsplit. But i dnt remember seeing .000 when using hjsplit.. the first file is always .001... anyway try Hjsplit..it's a very small program
