Empty zip file

I ran Recuva on a disk showing "empty" but which I suspected had data. Many files were recovered, yet when I restored them, the resulting zip files were corrupt. WinRar repaired them only to find the files empty. Have I done something wrong or can a zip file be empty?

Sometimes data in files is just gone. You likely recovered the shells of the ZIP files, but the internal contents were either lost or not fully restored. It’s a common issue with deleted or damaged ZIPs if the deletion happened a while ago.
