0xc0000225 windows\system32\config\system on Windows Vista

Hi everyone. 2 days ago I started my laptop. The battery was very low and it shut down while windows was starting. I restarted the laptop and I had to select 'start windows normally'. The next screen says :

---------------------------------------

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

File: \Windows\System32\config\system

Status: 0xc0000225

Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupt.

---------------------------------------

- I cannot boot Windows in any mode (safe or last known configuration).
- I tried to format and reinstall windows vista through the integrated reinstallation program pressing escape when the computed starts. It doesnt start and keep saying the same message).
- I tried to format and install Windows XP (as I dont have any copy of the Vista DVD) instead. It prepares the setup and finally says that there is no HDD connected to my laptop.

Any suggestions ?
Thanks!

A lot of laptops were made so you couldnt install XP on them, so either you get a Vista DVD or get a live CD to check your hard drive, also check the APIC option in your bios fist.
