I wondering what CPU to upgrade from my FX 8320 to ryzen. I use my main pc for almost everything including editing videos and multitasking with chrome and gaming in one system.

Here my specs of my system FX 8320 gtx 970 ftw 8 ddr3 1600 MHz 750 GB HDD 750 watt PSU

I'd personally go for the r5 1600, or if you have a little extra dough, the r7 1700

If you upgrade to Ryzen, you will need to buy another motherboard because it uses a different CPU socket than the FX-8320. Also, new motherboards will use DDR4 RAM, so new RAM too.

The Ryzen 3 1200 overclocked to 3.8GHz should be faster than the FX 8320. Any Ryzen 5 will outperform the FX 8 cores. You could go for a B350 motherboard and 16gb ddr4 2666 ram or 8GB stick then future upgrade to 16gb with second stick.
