Not sure if this the right forum for this, but although I have a 8meg download capability, my upload is just under 1meg. Does anyone know if I can increase this? I heard the technology is different.. on the different lines. Would like to really get them closer to equal or improve this. Anyone know how much would it cost, or if there any ISPs in the UK that would do this. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the link Peddant, appreciate it. When you need to give something back it always takes longer;)
Come on you Spurs!!

Upload and download speeds are the choice of your ISP. You can get full duplex gigabit fibre if you pay them enough money :)

If you want fast uploads, you should be contacting ISPs that offer commercial services (a la connections for companies that have busy websites).

Hi Nodsu. Mate can you tell me about how much are we talking about here. Could you estimate? When you say full duplex gigabit fibre, is this a maximum of 1024 x 1megabit upload capacity or what exactly. Thanks again for the help.

In communications, one gigabit is 1 000 000 000 bits. It's something around 100MB/s if you account for all kinds of overheads.

Mind you, everything depends on where exactly you live and how much money you have. A fibre line like may cost you something like $5-$10 per meter, plus possible digging work etc.
