Advice on running XP/2000 programs in 98 SE

I am currently trying to install a program which claims to be compatible with only
2000/XP on a 98SE system. If anybody can suggest an emulator or any other way that does not require me having a copy of 2000/XP would be greatly appreciated.

Most software is backwards compatible , but if your is written only for 2000/XP I think you may be asking for trouble.
Do a search at Google etc. to see if anyone has accomplished this feat with your program.Sometimes there are emulators written for a particular program.
Then let us know how it worked out.
