Adware Sheriff

This thing has locked up my registery, hijacked my home page and reminds me that I need to buy it every minute or so. It seems to be different from Spy Sheriff. I need help removing it.

I DID read it and say nothing about Adware Sheriff. Where is it?

Thanks for the reply. It looks like it is easier to reload XP. Someone could make a fortune selling a software program to accomplish the cleaning.

I was able to restore a previous date and rid myself of the problem. Strange thing is I have Spybot S&D and update and use it regularly. I use the most up to date Zone Alarm Security Suite, I refuse to ditch Internet Explorer, I am very careful of what E-mail I open, I don't download a bunch of crap and can't for the life of me figure out what this thing was attached to.

I guess it was just the luck of the draw.

Just out of curiosity, why do you refuse to ditch IE? Why do you like it so much? Have to ever tried Firefox? Firefox is way better and more secure than IE.

I have three computers tied up in a home business and all run the same browser. I don't want the hastle of changing over now. IE 7 is in final Beta and should plug the holes the hackers have had so much fun with. After I see what IE 7 is like I may decide to bite the bullet and change everything over. I guess I'm just lazy!
