Friend is giving me old server MB/CPUs/RAM, I know all in all it is kind of outdated but I would like a system to play around with and since it is free.... I would like to know what is a good compatible PSU for this motherboard.... I don't plan on doing more than 2 video cards... My friend told me best bet would be to get like 1000W which is fine, But I don't want to purchase one that won't be totally compatible with the board

Thanks in advance

You might want to list the motherboard and CPU you will be using. So someone can help you out.

Any ATX12V PSU will work for that machine. I would recommend picking up one from either Corsair,Seasonic,Antec,OZC and even Rosewill. However, in terms of wattage, I don't think you'll need 1000W. That will be overkill even for a dual GPU setup. For 2 video cards you would be fine with something in the range of 700-750W. Furthermore, you'll want to make sure your case will fit the power supply you purchase. So, it will be good to check dimensions before hand.
