Well, for one Trump's thugs teargassed the mayor of Portland this morning where there was no need. That's your dictatorship and very far from a peaceful society.
Considering that these far left nutjobs are attacking the courthouse, I think it’s warranted. The mayor isn’t doing his job to maintain law and order and is defying the federal government.
Except that Republicans are supposed to be the party of State's Rights and that the Feds need to keep their noses (and money) out of local happenings until requested by the State. But as we all know, politicians claim a lot of things when they are to their advantage and then immediately contradict themselves once that advantage has gone.
This action is no different.

If you are an independent who wants to live by yourself I'd recommend you do so.
On the otherhand, if you voted for Trump or are stumping for him, who essentially ran his campaign on making fun of and attacking others, you have zero grounds to make a statement like this.
Keep dumping on people and eventually they are going to fight back. A president for the few is not a president at all. The man literally called all protestors traitors. That's what a dictator does and given his recent commutation of stone, Trump's crossed a lot off the dictator checklist.
Trump has already went farther then Nixen has by pardoning stone and his sending of federal troop without the permission of governors is also unprecedented. It's even more dubious that they are grabbing protesters in unmarked vans. Even if you did assume that every protester is violent, trying to hide what your agents are doing is dubious at best. Given Trump's history I'd not give him the benefit of the doubt like I did on his inauguration.
Federal troops only have authority to defend federal property. Doing anything else is a violation of the constitution.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, societal change needs to happen at a glacial pace. It cannot be fast for then you're not going to think about all of the edge cases that might very well put everyone's lives at risk. Unfortunately, that's what many on the far-left want to do; they want to ram through whatever change that they want to do without once thinking about how it'll affect people's lives.
We can see this how Obamacare screwed over a lot of people. Anyone remember such wonderful lines like? "If you like your plan you can keep your plan" and the equally famous "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" which, of course, was nothing but a bunch of lies perpetrated by the left to ram rod their agenda through meanwhile we had people say "We have to pass the law to see what it says". HA!
And you wonder why I have such little respect for those on the left. They can jump off a cliff for all I care, every single last one of them. The whole left is a bunch of liars that only want power. You can see that in how they want to take our freedoms away. Freedom to assemble, freedom to bare arms, freedom of speech (oh because it might hurt someone).
And before you say anything about banning hate speech, think about it this way. What stops what is thought of as perfectly fine to say today from being banned tomorrow as hate speech? Nothing! And if that doesn't scare you, you aren't thinking straight. That's right! The ramifications of banning hate speech can be far and wide and that's a scary and dystopian road that I do not want to walk down.

Unfortunately, you're seeing a lot of politicians pandering to the loud minority and then when they turn out to be not "woke" enough the crowd turns on them. I wish that these politicians wouldn't pander to the "woke" crowd because in the end, you'll never be "woke" enough.
What we're seeing right now is the beginning of mob rule. You cannot have mob rule, that's the start of anarchy.

True, lets just hope there are enough of the left that see sense and vote those politicians out. it just happened in the uk with Brexit. all the mps that wanted to throw out the democratic contract and go against the people, lost there seats.

it takes time man, normies don't pay attention to politics. they just want to get on with there lives, they have there own problems. its only when stuff really starts to affect them is when they notice.
And by then it's too late to do anything, the damage has already been done.
Hopefully I'm wrong though. A majority of people are starting to wake up to the fact that the far-left is a bunch of loonies. When your store front gets destroyed it usually makes people sit up and take notice.

I hope that it starts swinging back towards the center where it belongs. The country has always been successful when both the left and the right actually want to work with one another to get things done.

And yet republicans controlled the presidency, the house, and the senate from January 2017 to January 2019. Particularly Trump, they promised to replace Obamacare with something far superior and did NOTHING except beat down Obamacare without any plan to replace it. Millions are now without any healthcare due to those efforts.
The fact you are so adamant and emotional in claiming that those on the left only want power yet fail to see this in Trump and the republicans indicates to me that this reflects your own nature.

Bullcrap! I, for one, do not support the angry mob. I don't support the destruction and killing under any circumstances and most especially when it is extremists from one side killing cops hoping to make it look like it was the other side that did the killing.
I do, however, see a need for change especially when unarmed people are being killed by cops. No one ever passed a law that cops are judge, jury, and executioner. In fact, if they did, it would be constitutional. But some of them should not be cops and should have never been allowed to be cops. Like it or not, there is corruption everywhere. You may want to believe that cops are angels, however, they are just as human subject to all the human flaws like I am and every other human being is.
And guess what - The cop charged with killing George Floyd has just been charged with tax evasion.
Does that sound like a person who should be a police officer?
