All Games Crash!

I have a serious problem!!
first my spec list:

MSI K8 SLI (latest mobo drivers and latest bios version)
AMD FX55 factory clocked @2.6ghz (latest drivers)
Geforce 7800 GT 256mb PCIe (latest drivers)
2Gig Ram (2x1gbsticks PC2700)
SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS (latest drivers)
Western Digital 160mb HDD SATA
Sony DVD:RW
Sony CD:RW
Sony FDD
Power Supply unsure, sticker says max output: 360w
Win XP Pro SP2

The problem: OK so just built this system, installed windows fine, everyting worked perfectly untill i decided i wanted to play some games, installed HL2 and all the basic games such as lost coast, using steam and they seem to crash at random intervals, unreal tournament 2003 does the same and so does BF2. cpu temp idle is around 43 degrees celcius and after the crash it goes up to around 58. tried removing both the sticks individually but the same thing happens so im confident its not the memory. lost coast sometimes can complete 1 full video stress test and tells me the average fps is 71.3 or near to that but when i run the same test immediately afterwards it crashes, never completes the second run, not always completes the first!
Any suggestions?

PSU isnt a problem, i think i may have just fixed the glitch, i moved my gfx card from one pcie port to another and its working fine now, i read in another forum that it has worked for others as well so fingers crossed its all ok now

thanks for the help howard

Ok so i thought that moving the graphics card had worked well i put the loast coast vid stress test on 5 times and it didnt crash so i was happy untill i noticed bf2 was still randomly crashing so then i looked for individual game problems and it seems alot of ppl r blaming the new patch, so i though its late, instead of reinstalling now ill just play some counterstrike source............about 45mins into the game it crashed with the same error message as before so it seems as if moving the card has only improved the problem, not solved it maybe my psu is to blame looking at it again i found that it is a chieftech 360W with 17A on the +12V collum, if thats any use to anyone, i dont want to go and spend loads of money on another psu and have it not solve the problem, so how larger psu should i need if i am to borrow a friends? or if anyone has any other ideas on how to solve the problem please tell! lol oh and i moved my memory clock down in the bios from 200 to 166 on the DRAM config that hasnt done anything either

o and these are the errors from the counterstrike source crashes found in the event viewer

well, I've never tried this myself, but I've been told it's one way to test the PSU for low output.
tone down ur entire system (underclock the V.card, CPU, RAM and whatever u can change voltage on)
then lower the voltage on all those parts (this might take a while, cuz u need to find a very low voltage and clock settings that still keep the system operating right...take ur time and don't be hasty)

now try the games (lower the settings of course...u've just handicaped ur system...)

if the problem stops...u'll know that the PSU if lame (which BTW, is very probeble, 360W is not all that gr8, and u got a nice, power-hungry system)
if the problem don't stop...it means absolutly nothing (the PSU still might be the cause)

this is only a way to test if the PSU is to blame, but not if it's not

now, a PSU that can help u test the problem (from a friend or where ever u can get), would be a high-Q 400W PSU (if u can get a thermaltake or antec PSU, thay'll do JUST FINE), but remamber, in PSU, the more output the better.
an acceptable PSU should be around 60-65$...anything more then that is a little more then needed if u ask me.

Hope Ur problem works out

ya i agree. even if u dont have any probs now, i still recommend you change the psu. I personally was using a stock 500w psu on my 3500+ 7800gt A8Ne 1gb corsiar 16x liteon dvdrw 160gb sata2 seagate and i experianced random crashes and Bsods. changed the psu to an antec450w and now my system is purring..... :haha:

Same Exact Problem!!! - Please Help

I am getting the EXACT SAME ERROR!!!! clarkey1986

I am running a different system though:

CPU - Intel P4 2.60C GHz Rev.D1
Motherboard - Asus P4P800 Deluxe
Graphics Card - ATI RADEON X800 XL AGP
Cooling - Thermaltake Bigwater SE
Memory - OCZ EL Plat. 2x1GB PC3200
Hard Drives - Maxtor 2x160GB + 300GB
Power Supply - Enermax EG465P-VE (460W)
Sound Card - On-Board
Monitor - Dell 1704FPT (17")
Operating System - WinXP SP2

So far, i havent been able to fix the issue. I completely removed Steam and re-installed everything. Still get the same crashes. If anyone has found a solution please let me know!!!!
