Amazon removes Dolby Vision and Atmos from Prime Video unless you pay to go ad-free

I didn't ask you a question. I asked someone else a question. Respond to questions being asked of you, not of some other poster, lest you want to be accused of being a sock or part of a "team" of posters whose job it is to derail discussions. It's really looking to be that way, considering that this story is about Amazon and not Disney or Kathleen Kennedy
Are you actually telling another Human, who and what they can respond to..?

Secondly, why are You derailing discussions with your agenda and defense of a failing Company, based solely on your emotions of Kathleen Kennedy..?

I set my Amazon prime subscription to “suspend” the other day. We will see if it makes any real difference to me, but I doubt it.

Prime Video has nothing I'm interested in watching. Amazon keeps dangling 30-day free Prime trials in front of me, from time to time. I subscribe for the trial term, mainly for the expedited and free shipping, but I always cancel. I've known for a long time that their video and audio quality is typically crap and not worth it. It's possible to play their game and win against them. In fact, they gave me two free 30-day trials in a row. The second one, for me, ends at the end of February. I've already cancelled.

Do people realize that this will never end? Corporations, atleast in the US, have a legal obligation to the share holders to make as much money as possible. Why invest in a company if you don't see your stock price grow or get paid dividends?

So they increased prices and made an incentive to buy the higher teir service. They will wait awhile, then do it again.

I cancelled my Prime membership over this. They lost money on me.

This is just absurd gaslighting on your part. If they "have nothing you're interested in watching", how do you know so much about their video quality? And why do you keep signing up for free trials? Next time *think* before posting manipulative lies.

Myself, I have subscriptions to 6 or 7 different streaming services, including Prime: you can't tell the slightest difference in video or audio quality between any of them. A couple of them have the rare stutter now and then-- but not Prime. And I find myself watching it more than Netflix lately, as Prime actually has a reasonable selection of Hollywood films, whereas Netflix now seems to spend all their cash on ever-more-banal "Netflix Original" series.

Exactly so. And economists have shown time and time again that allowing producers to maximize their profits while simultaneously allowing consumers to maximize their utility on a free market generates the greatest good for the most people.

Unfortunately, the math behind this though not complex is too much for those with five-minute attention spans. So occasionally the people make the horrendous mistake of implementing a socialist-style alternative, which generally gives them the consumer paradises we see in places like Cuba, North Korea, or the former Soviet Republics.

Yawn. Because in your simpleminded black and white worldview, there's only 2 options: Libertarian "free" markets (LOL) and "Communism". 🤣
